The Asunción Paraguay Temple stands near Paraguay’s vibrant capital city. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Paraguay and areas of Argentina attend the temple to find peace within its walls. Built in 2002, the Asunción Temple was the first Mormon temple built in Paraguay and the Church’s 112th operating temple worldwide.Covered with light gray Asa Branca Brazilian granite, the 10,700-square-foot temple has a long, rectangular design with a single spire. Decorative circles carved into the exterior walls are centered above trios of rectangular windows. A similar circle motif can also be seen in the fence surrounding the beautiful temple grounds, which are filled with vivid green grass, tropical trees, and bright flowers. Sharing the seven-acre temple grounds is a stake center, a building where Latter-day Saints attend regular Sunday worship services.
