Amidst the sea spray of the Atlantic coast, the Halifax Nova Scotia Temple stands as a spiritual beacon to Latter-day Saints in the Maritime Provinces of Canada. The Halifax Nova Scotia Temple is the 64th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The building is 10,700 square feet, has a Bethel white granite exterior and has beautiful decor adorning the interior.
The temple holds instruction rooms, sealing rooms, a celestial room and a baptistry. In the instruction rooms, Church members learn about the purpose of life and make promises to God to live moral and faithful lives through the example of Jesus Christ. In sealing rooms, a man and woman can be married for eternity, and the children they have within that marriage will also be bound to them for eternity. The celestial room signifies eternal life in the presence of God and Jesus Christ.
