An acclaimed landmark in one of the world’s largest cities, the Mexico City Mexico Temple is the 26th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the first temple to be built in Mexico. It serves over 264,000 Church members across 10 Mexican states. Characterized by a unique design described by architect Emil B. Fetzer as “a modern adaptation of ancient Mayan architecture,” this beautiful edifice is located near the San Juan de Aragón park and zoological gardens in northeastern Mexico City. Enchanting gardens and a lovely water feature are highlights of the seven-acre temple grounds, which are open to the public.
