Located in a region referred to as “a land of temples” for its abundant archaeological ruins and rich history of Mesoamerican cultures, the Oaxaca Mexico Temple is located in southern Mexico and is the 74th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was the fifth of more than a dozen temples of the Church completed in Mexico.
The 10,700-square-foot white marble edifice sits on nearly two acres, which it shares with an adjoining meetinghouse. Latter-day Saints from southern Mexico attend the temple to worship God and to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Within the temple are a baptistry, instruction rooms, sealing rooms (where eternal marriages are performed) and a celestial room, which symbolizes heaven on earth.Finished/Dedicated: 13
