The Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple stands on a single acre amid leafy trees approximately 17 miles northwest of the state’s capital city. The striking marble edifice is the 95th temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the first to be built in Oklahoma. It serves congregations from Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas. At 10,769 square feet, the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple utilizes one of the smallest floor plans found in Mormon temples. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Church streamlined temple construction for many temples by reducing their size, which also made them more economical. This enabled more Church members to attend temples in their particular areas of the world.
