Just off Interstate 10 stands the Redlands California Temple. With arched doorways in the portico and arched windows on all sides, the temple’s architecture is reminiscent of California’s Spanish missions. This temple is the fifth built by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California and the first built in the region known as the Inland Empire. Church members in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties worship in the temple.Mormons consider temples to be houses of God. They visit temples to worship and to feel the peace that pervades these sacred edifices. The Redlands California Temple contains a baptistry, instruction rooms, sealing rooms (where marriages are performed) and a celestial room (representing heaven on earth). Mormons cherish temples as places where they find peace and direction and where their families are united forever.
