The Rome Italy Temple is a landmark structure for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Italy and around the world. The structure sits in the beautiful community of Settebagni, northeast of Rome, and close to the Grande Raccordo Anulare, a busy highway that circles the city. It is the 12th Mormon temple built in Europe, following temples in such cities as Bern, Frankfurt, London and Madrid. The temple site encompasses 15 acres and holds other buildings in addition to the temple itself, including a meetinghouse, where Church members can meet for regular Sunday worship services and midweek social activities; a visitors’ center, where the public can come to learn about the Church; a family history center, where visitors can do genealogical research; and patron housing. At the center of the lot, the temple stands as the defining edifice surrounded by beautiful gardens.
