Located on Avenida El Espino, in front of the Roberto D’Aubuisson Roundabout, the San Salvador El Salvador Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gleams in the sun. It is the 135th of these sacred edifices to be built in the world and the fourth to be completed in Central America. The temple serves congregations throughout El Salvador.
Although it overlooks a busy thoroughfare, the white temple contrasts stunningly with the surrounding greenery. The temple exterior reveals a contemporary design with Spanish-colonial-inspired motifs. Within the temple are a baptistry, instruction rooms, a celestial room (which represents heaven on earth) and sealing rooms, where Latter-day Saints are married.
