The first temple in the state of Washington, the Seattle Washington Temple rises above evergreen trees in Bellevue, half an hour outside of Seattle. The Seattle Washington Temple is the 19th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and serves Church members in western Washington and British Columbia.Reinforced concrete faced with quartz and white marble aggregate creates a gleaming exterior. The temple features a modern, single-spire design created by Emil B. Fetzer, who was Church architect from 1965 to 1986. He designed Mormon temples located on five continents, and many of these temples feature a single spire.
