The Snowflake Arizona Temple sits on a red rock knoll on the west side of Snowflake, about three hours northeast of Phoenix. The 7.5-acre site is surrounded by windswept cedar trees and overlooks the Snowflake Community Golf Course. Completed in 2002, this temple is the 108th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the second temple to be built in Arizona, one of many smaller temples that Church President Gordon B. Hinckley announced plans to build in 1998. The Mesa Arizona Temple was completed nearly a century earlier in 1927.
